On July 14th, 2019 Troop 77 marks its 80th Anniversary of scouting in Boulder, Colorado.
Troop 77 has been sponsored by the Boulder Elks Lodge for 60 years!
BSA Troop 77 is a very active, scout-led troop of about 50 scouts. Boys entering 6th through 12th grade, and under the age of 18, are welcome to join (no previous scouting required). The adult leadership are primarily parent volunteers, and are all trained in BSA Youth Protection.
They meet on Tuesdays at the Boulder Elks Youth Activity Building (Scout Hall) next to the swimming pool. Our summer meeting hours are 7:00-9:00pm from Memorial Day through Labor Day (includes swimming). Winter meeting hours are 7:00-8:30pm beginning the first Tuesday after Labor Day.
Troop 77 was first chartered in Nederland, Colorado in 1939. It was not active during the World War II years, but has been continuously chartered with the Boulder Elks since 1949.
Troop 77 is proud of its heritage and the huge impact the Troop has had on the lives of hundreds of Scouts in our community. Through activities such as camping, hiking, and skiing, Scouts have fun, make friends, and learn critical leadership skills that will help them throughout their lives. To date, 123 Scouts in the Troop have earned the rank of Eagle and learned the importance of giving back to their community-a significant point of pride within the Troop.
